Melbourne WestRemovals
The inner-west move, read before you book

Start with the home, not the kilometres

Out here the move is decided by the kind of home and how you reach the door, not the distance. Pick your home type, confirm the access, and we will show you the crew, the truck and the carry your move actually needs, honestly, with a docket to bring to your quote.

1 What kind of home is it?

Picking a home type sets the typical access below. Adjust any of it to match your place.

2 Where can the truck stop?

Single-fronted streets and tight estates often mean a full-size pantech cannot get to the door.

3 What is the carry up?

New-estate stairs often turn twice; a warehouse conversion runs on the building's freight lift and its booked window.

4 Anything oversized?

Awkward, heavy pieces shape the crew and the gear we bring. Tick what applies.

Cottage At the door Ground
Standard move

Truck at the door and a single level: two movers and one truck handle this comfortably.

    What each result means

Three kinds of access, three kinds of crew

However the home sits, the move falls into one of three shapes. This is how we resource each one, so the price reflects the real work and there are no surprises on the day.

    1

    Standard move

The truck stops at or near the door and the carry is short and level. Our standard crew of two movers and one truck moves the home efficiently.

    2

    Plan the carry

A street-only spot, internal or turning stairs, or a freight-lift window. We add a mover, lay floor protection and book the lift or loading dock so the day still runs to time.

    3

    Specialist access

A rear-laneway-only home, a truck that parks well down the street, or a walk-up with no lift. We shuttle from a legal spot with a smaller vehicle, bring a larger crew, and allow the time the access really needs.

    Good to know

    About the planner

    Is this my final quote?

No. It is an honest read on the crew, truck and access your home calls for, so the quote is accurate and the day has no surprises. Send the docket with your enquiry and we will price the move on your real addresses, both ends.

Why does the home type matter so much?

Because in the inner-west it decides almost everything. A single-fronted cottage means no off-street parking and a likely carry from down the street; a warehouse conversion means a freight lift and a booked dock; a new-estate townhouse means stairs that turn and a shared driveway. We plan the truck, crew and carry around the home you actually have.

What if a truck genuinely cannot reach my home?

It is common on single-fronted streets and rear-laneway homes. We park a truck where it is legal and shuttle your belongings to it with a smaller vehicle and extra hands. The planner flags this so it is costed up front, not discovered on moving day.

Do you move pianos, big artworks and oversized pieces?

Yes. Tick them and we factor the right crew and gear into the plan. Warehouse conversions especially often have oversized art and long lounges that need careful handling through a freight lift, and we are set up for it.
